THE SERVICES ARE NOT HIPAA-COMPLIANT. Any information you input into documents, chat interfaces, or any other part of the Services may be processed by artificial intelligence systems, transmitted to third-party AI providers, and stored on our servers. If you require HIPAA-compliant services, you may not use Mimzie for those purposes.

We cannot guarantee the privacy or security of any sensitive personal data you choose to input despite this warning. You assume all risk associated with inputting such data.

  1. Sent to Third-Party AI Providers: Your documents, chat messages, and other inputs may be transmitted to third-party AI service providers for processing. We use the following AI providers:

    Large Language Model (LLM) Providers:

    • Anthropic - Claude models for essay generation, revisions, and writing assistance
    • OpenAI - GPT models for alternative processing and text embeddings (including Azure OpenAI Service)
    • OpenRouter - A routing service that provides access to multiple LLM providers including:
      • Google (Gemini models)
      • DeepSeek
      • xAI (Grok models)

    Research and Citation Services:

    • Exa AI - For academic research and web content retrieval
    • CrossRef - For citation and DOI metadata lookup (free public API)

  2. Processed for AI Responses: Your content is analyzed by AI models to generate suggestions, revisions, research results, and other outputs.

  3. Stored for Service Delivery: Content may be temporarily cached by AI providers during processing, and stored in our database to provide continuity of service.

AI Model Selection

You may have the option to select different AI models within the Services. Your choice of model affects which third-party provider processes your content. Each provider has their own privacy practices and data handling policies.

AI Training

  • We do not use your documents or personal content to train our own AI models
  • Third-party AI providers have their own policies regarding training data; we use API configurations that opt out of training where such options are available

By using our AI-powered features, you acknowledge that:

Document Processing

Document processing for file uploads (PDF, DOCX, Excel) is performed locally using open-source libraries and does not involve transmission to external services.

Analytics and Error Tracking

We use analytics and error tracking services to understand how our Services are used and to identify and fix problems. These services collect personally identifiable information.

PostHog (Product Analytics)

We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog collects:

Account Deletion

  • Your vector embeddings will be permanently deleted
  • Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics

  • Data that has already been transmitted to third-party AI providers is subject to their retention policies

Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
