Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 10, 2026
Privacy is the whole point of Mimzie. You may be sharing things you have not told anyone, and we take that seriously. Your chats and saved memories are encrypted on your device before they ever leave it. Our servers store the encrypted bytes, not the words you wrote.
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your conversations, your saved memories, or your personal information. We use data only to run the app, keep it secure, handle billing, recover your account, and check that the service is working.
Mimzie is not a doctor, therapist, or crisis service. If you are in danger, call 911, 988 in the United States, or your local emergency number.
Mimzie is an early-stage app. These details may change over time, but our commitment to your privacy will not. The most current version of this policy will always live on this page. Our full policy is below.
What we collect
Account information
When you create or sign in to a Mimzie account, our authentication provider may give us your email, name, profile picture URL, account ID, and session tokens. The app stores your session in your device's secure storage so you stay signed in.
Onboarding answers
During onboarding, Mimzie may ask things like your date of birth, name, email, phone number, country, ZIP or postal code, time zone, language, and how you found us. We use this to confirm you are old enough to use Mimzie, set the app up for you, personalize the first session, support account recovery, and respect your consent choices.
Conversations, memories, and insights
Your chats with Mimzie, your saved memories, and any generated insights are encrypted on your device before sync. What we store is the encrypted payload along with cryptographic fields. Saved memories are visible and editable by you inside the app.
We do not store voice recordings. If a feature on your device converts speech to text, only the text becomes part of the conversation, and that text is encrypted before sync.
Feedback and support
If you contact support or send feedback, we keep what you choose to share. Feedback may include an encrypted body, an encrypted contact field, a category, and related diagnostic metadata. We use it to respond, fix issues, and improve Mimzie.
If you use our public feedback board, feature requests, comments, and votes you submit may be visible to Mimzie and to other users. Please do not include private, sensitive, health, financial, or confidential information in public feedback. Public feedback is separate from private chats and memories and is not treated as encrypted private conversation data. We use Feedbackland to host and manage the board, and Feedbackland may process feedback content, votes, comments, and technical data such as IP address, browser information, and timestamps on our behalf.
How Mimzie uses AI
Mimzie uses a local, on-device model for chat. All AI responses are generated on your phone. We do not store readable copies of your conversations, nor do we give your conversations to a third party AI inference provider.
Operational and technical data
To keep Mimzie working, we collect some basic details like a number that identifies your account, information about your device and app version, your time zone, reminder and notification settings, and what type of subscription you have. We also keep track of things like when you delete your account. This helps us run the app and provide the right features for you.
Security
Your conversation and memory data is stored encrypted on our servers. Mimzie staff, including engineering, product, and support, cannot read your conversations or memories under normal operations.
We use client-side encryption for chat and memory sync, secure local storage for keys and sessions, and an optional screen lock. Privacy and security are part of how Mimzie is built.
Payments and subscriptions
Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and the Apple App Store, including entitlements, purchases, trials, invoices, restores, and billing issues. Your payment card information is handled by Apple and other payment processors, not by Mimzie.
Service providers
We use trusted service providers to run Mimzie. They help us provide hosting, authentication, database storage, email delivery, beta signups, security, feedback collection, and customer support. These providers may process limited personal information only to provide services to Mimzie. Examples include Convex for app data storage and backend services, WorkOS for authentication, Vercel for hosting, Google services for beta signup workflows, and Feedbackland for public feedback boards.
When we may share information
We may share information to operate the service, comply with the law, respond to valid legal process, protect Mimzie, prevent fraud or abuse, address security or technical issues, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Mimzie, our users, or the public, where permitted or required by law.
Your choices
- Read, edit, or delete saved memories inside the app.
- Turn notifications on or off in the app.
- Request account deletion from the recovery area.
- Sign out, uninstall the app, or stop using the website.
- Email us to request access, correction, or deletion.
Account deletion is designed to remove backend records tied to your account, including encrypted messages, encrypted memory items, and related sync records. Some information may remain where retention is required for law, billing, fraud prevention, security logs, backups, or app-store records.
Intended audience
Mimzie is for adults. The app asks you to confirm you are at least 18 before continuing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International users
We may transfer information internationally to operate Mimzie, including to the United States and other countries where we or our providers have facilities. Different countries have different privacy laws.
Updates
We will update this policy as Mimzie changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after an update means the updated policy applies.
